A pair of high school football players found dead in a fiery car crash that killed two other teens and critically injured several others were their friends from Porter Ranch High, said officials involved in their care.
Porter Ranch High players had been playing football with friends from neighboring Sierra Vista High School, said Edith Romero, whose daughter, Jennifer, was one of two girls killed in the crash, which occurred shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Jennifer, 18, and her friend, Brittany Odom, 17, were inside the car, a white Ford Explorer, just a half-mile from Porter Ranch High School, just a few hundred feet away.
“They were always the leaders of the car … and they were always running up front,” said Romero, whose teenage daughter had been dating the two males.
“These two were my only hope,” Romero said
