Suspicious device found at a Toronto airport has been disarmed and 2 people are in custody, authorities say.
Toronto Police say a suspicious package found at the CNE on Friday was an electronic device containing a handgun.
The weapon was discovered without the magazine, so the device was disarmed.
Police say the investigation is ongoing to determine what was inside the device.
Two people are in custody.
Police said a second item was located at another Toronto subway station.
One person was detained for possession of the device at the airport and the other arrested on a weapons charge.
The device, which contained a handgun, was found at a location where there are always thousands of people and police are on high alert for anything suspicious.
